Description
This captivating work is a sculpture in Bollène clay, fired at 1260°C, of a woman seated gracefully on a solid wood base. Her slightly forward-leaning posture, with her legs dangling, conveys an impression of quiet contemplation. The subtle curves and raw texture contrast beautifully with the smooth base of the wooden block, creating a harmonious balance between materiality and delicacy. The expressive treatment of details, particularly in the hair and the expression of the face, lends the sculpture a striking vitality. Light caresses the patinated surfaces, accentuating volumes and shadows, adding a dynamic dimension despite the apparent stillness of the scene. It is a bold exploration of femininity and introspection, capturing a moment of introspective pause with elegance and depth.

Four-handed sculptures
From clay, I imagine, I shape my creation: "the woman". During this particular exchange a dialogue is established between the earth and me, a form will come to life which will find its expression through my hands.
Régis, for his part, will ensure its durability through very gradual cooking that will protect the integrity of the clay. A patina will give it a light make-up, like a woman would make herself beautiful.
This is how our sandstone and bronze sculptures are made by four hands.
