Artisti provocatori
La storia dell'arte è stata costellata da numerosi scandali e manifestazioni di artisti provocatori. Poiché il ruolo principale dell'arte è quello di far provare emozioni agli spettatori, è ovvio che alcuni artisti cercano di portarci fuori dalla nostra zona di comfort. È così che alcuni pittori provocatori scandalizzarono la critica, come Gustave Courbet con il suo famoso dipinto “L'origine del mondo" del 1866, molto in anticipo sui tempi nella rappresentazione della nudità. Ma i pittori non sono gli unici artisti provocatori. Il fotografo Nobuyoshi Araki o anche Bettina Rheims rivolge il suo obiettivo verso argomenti controversi.
Tuttavia, lo scandalo non è necessariamente legato a nudità. La provocazione nell'arte risponde soprattutto al desiderio di scioccare e di liberarsi da limiti o tabù. Questo è il motivo per cui molti artisti impegnati usano la loro arte per diffondere messaggi sovversivi e andare contro i governi costituiti. Questo è particolarmente vero per gli artisti di strada, come Banksy, Jean-Michel Basquiat o anche Keith Haring.
