Hector Adalid, about me
As a photographer and artist, working with other artists has always been inspiring and an important source of my creativity. When I first met Stefano Sanna, a pioneer in Metacycling Art, I was captivated by his ideas and his virtuoso use of discarded materials and natural color pigments. We began collaborating through several of Stefano’s successful exhibitions in New York. Initially I viewed Metacycling objects like a photographer but have grown to develop my own interpretation of these items as an artist. Intensive interaction with art collectors and art critics at exhibitions has expanded my artistic self-image and the positive feedback at international exhibitions has stimulated my creative energy.

My experiences at the latest exhibitions in Zurich, San Pantaleo, Porto Cervo, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami helped stimulate my artistic ingenuity. Last year I was able to realize my "Art and Hospitality" vision through a collaborative project with a large exclusive hotel in South Florida. This year, touring internationally with the SaSa Art team, my photo art will again be displayed in exhibitions in Geneva, Costa Smeralda, Basel, Florence, Tokyo, Miami, St. Petersburg and Cologne.

My biography
I was born in 1974 by my Mexican parents, who work as Medical Doctors in Mexico City. As an anthropology major, I documented and supported Native Americans in the northern mountains of Mexico for years and my latter work is part of the permanent collection of the National Anthropology and History Museum of Mexico City.
I developed my passion for photography and art while living in Amsterdam where I learnt all about professional photography. From Europe I moved to New York City where I assisted famous photographers and became fascinated by art photography. I live and work mostly in NYC and I love travelling to be inspired by new and exciting cultural concepts like Metacycling Art.

The artwork
My SaSa photographic art images emerge from an interpretation of the Metacycling “master objects.” I use highly specialized photographic techniques to bring recycled materials like weathered wood and rusty metal parts to life. Using macro photography, each work of art is represented as a small universe of atomic components that I bring into view in aesthetic compositions. Each image is an unique graphic piece that unfolds its decorative effect through design elements in unique shapes and colors. Inspired by celestial bodies, I frequently combine circular and spherical shapes with shades of organic color palettes weathered by nature for many of my art objects. This results in wall art that is particularly soothing, focusing the viewer's gaze on the center of the circular image, achieving the desired relaxing effect on the eyes and mind.
