Description
Klish 13
"Shelter of Dionysus" by Andriy Klishyn is a bold and evocative abstract work that immerses the viewer in a world of passion, ecstasy, and divine energy. The composition is dominated by a fiery palette of yellow, orange, and red, evoking the mythical and intoxicating essence of Dionysus, the Greek god of wine, revelry, and chaos. The upper section of the painting, bathed in golden hues, radiates warmth and light, symbolizing the divine or spiritual realm. The intense red forms emerging from the horizon resemble flames or figures lost in a Bacchic trance, alluding to the wild, unrestrained rituals of Dionysian worship. The dark lower portion suggests a hidden world beneath, possibly representing the mystery, depth, and unpredictability of passion and intoxication.Through this work, Klishyn explores the duality of ecstasy and destruction, the fine line between pleasure and chaos, order and madness. The painting invites the viewer to embrace the mystical and untamed forces within themselves, capturing the spirit of liberation, indulgence, and the unknown.

The artist about himself:
“As a professional artist, I started my career late, at 61 years old. But it is possible that this was what should have happened. Everything has its time. Rich life experiences have become the source of my creativity. My art is ambiguous and unlike any other, probably because “I paint with my heart." Sometimes I use an intuitive drawing, namely: not from life or from a photograph, but only what suits the subconscious, soul, heart.
Most importantly and completely unexpectedly for me, after a series of works I began to understand where my images come from... I think that I or my essence saw them in our past or future life.
Despite my little experience, I already have more than two hundred paintings, about forty of them have found “their home" in private collections and museums."
The paintings are in the Lutsk Art Museum, in the Korsakov Family Museum of Contemporary Art.
