Daniel Krysta

Born in 1976 in Cieszyn, Poland

He graduated from the Faculty of Painting of Wrocław's Academy of Fine Arts, having completed his diploma in Professor Stanisław Kortyka's studio.

He participated in dozens of collective exhibitions and has several individual exhibitions to his credit.

The winner of numerous contests, he now lives and works in Wrocław.

Research

Everything started with my interest in physicality and sensuality in painting. And I follow the path. As long as I can remember, I have always been attracted by tangibility, texture and fleshiness of a painting. But first and foremost, opportunities offered by matter. It is something arbitrary, shaped by humans, by their intentions, spirit or sensibility. Once on the painting, the matter becomes unreal because of the painting, the fact that it is being perceived. In my opinion, it precisely allows to reflect the reality. Those things, seemingly contradictory, to me, they are identical. On the one hand, reality manifested in texture and on the other hand – reality pictured with the help of other painting-related tricks, more elusive or hyperrealistic elements.
