Biography

MissMe is a Montreal-based urban artist and feminist activist originally from Switzerland. Nicknamed "The Artful Vandal," she is known for her powerful street collages, blending feminist iconography, social criticism, and masked self-portraits. Her work, often done in wheatpaste, addresses themes such as sexism, sexuality, religion, and pop culture, offering a reflection on the place of women in public space.

Before devoting herself fully to art, MissMe worked as an art director at an advertising agency, an experience that influenced her critique of the media and the portrayal of women. She studied graphic design and has always been involved in various art forms, including painting, dance, and music. Her mother, an art enthusiast, exposed her to various art forms from a young age, which fostered her creative sensibility.

His work has been recognized by figures such as Madonna, who acquired a piece from his Portrait of a Vandal series in 2018.

MissMe uses art as a means of personal liberation and empowerment for women and minorities. Her iconic mask symbolizes resistance to imposed norms and the assertion of feminine identity. She continues to mark the urban space with works that challenge and inspire, making her a major figure in contemporary street art.
