Biographie
Diana Thorneycroft est une artiste originaire de Winnipeg qui a présenté plusieurs travaux d’étude sur les corps à travers le Canada, les États-Unis et l’Europe, ainsi qu’à Moscou, Tokyo et Sydney.
Malgré le fait qu’elle soit essentiellement reconnue pour ses tableaux photographiques, elle travaille également à l’installation sculpturale et ses dessins ont fait l’objet de plusieurs expositions. Le travail de Thorneycroft est truffé d’humour noir et examine les problématiques entourant l’identité et le corps en souffrance. Récipiendaire de plusieurs prix et récompenses, son travail est présenté dans des galeries à Montréal, Toronto et Los Angeles.
Le magazine Canadian Art a sélectionné l’oeuvre de Thorneycroft “Group of Seven Awkward Moments” comme faisant partie du “Top 10 des expositions de 2008”. Certaines pièces de cette exposition solo sont présentement en tournée à travers le Canada et présentées au Centre culturel Canadien à Paris.
