Biographie
Artiste plasticien né en 1965, Christophe Stouvenel « Kiki » prend ses influences d'expression et de technique dans la culture des années 80.
C'est avec son surnom d'enfance que « Kiki » signait déjà ses premiers dessins…
Pendant ses études d'arts plastiques, au détour d'une rue, il tombe nez à nez avec une peinture en 4x3m de « Kiki Picasso », simplement collée sur un panneau urbain. Ne pouvant résister, cette œuvre qui représentait un Père Noël, sera arrachée la nuit suivante et servira longtemps de décor dans sa chambre d'étudiant.
Pour Christophe Stouvenel, être artistiquement parlant « Kiki » devient alors une évidence. C'est ainsi qu'il explique son attachement à son surnom : il y a un Picasso, un Kiki Picasso… désormais il va y avoir un Kiki.
« Kiki » a une prédilection pour l'utilisation de supports et médiums issus de l'art urbain : il mêle le travail du pochoir, la mise en scène et le collage d'affiches arrachées, le détournement de mots façon slogan publicitaire. Autant de techniques et d'approches qui sont non seulement le reflet de l'influence culturelle et artistique de son époque adolescente, mais aussi celui de sa sensibilité et de son interprétation du monde d'aujourd'hui.
