Biography
Julie Nangala Robertson also called Robinson was born in 1973. She is one of the five daughters of the great Dorothy Napangardi. Her sisters Julie Nangala and Sabrina Robertson Nangala are the most famous ones and have each, their own style.
Julie Nangala Robertson often painted beside her mother, Dorothy, this is why there is a strong resemblance between her works and Dorothy's work. Julie began painting in the late 90s, she depicts in her paintings the country of her father, of which she is the custodian "Pirlinyanu" near Mina Mina, a rocky land, very rich in water sources, she created her own visual language.
The dreams of water is her main creative expression. Her paintings are minimalist, contemporary and quite often painted in three colors (mainly white, black and red).
