Biography

Shelley Newman has worked for several years in the field of advertising and design. During these years, Shelley Newman was never far from a canvas and always had a painting on fire. Shelley Newman has worked in oil, watercolour, acrylic, printmaking, life drawing and pottery, but she has always returned to oil. Due to the richness and luminosity of the oils, Shelley continued to develop her skills in this area and has remained there since the 1990s.

Since moving to Georgetown, Ontario in 2011, Shelley Newman has been able to focus exclusively on painting. Shelley has participated in numerous solo, group and juried exhibitions, in 2015 she became an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists and in 2019 she became an elected member of the Ontario Society of Artists.
