Biography
Joël Sadaune is a French artist, born in 1968 and is from Marcq en Baroeul. Since his childhood, he likes creating things with the help of his imagination and turned towards an architecture course. He then worked in the the "event planning" sector and mainly planning exhibitions.
The basis of his work is often related to recycling objects and recreating them. Even if he uses usual mediums like canvas, his artistic desires leans more on recovered materials: corrugated cardboard, palette, recreated objects...These materials are filled with life and Joël Sadaune's work unveils them or gives them another life.
The traces of tears, the inherent writings of these mediums allow him to shape up his work. Sometimes, he overplays these tears, rips and cuts. He often uses a vocabulary related to packaging or popular communication: arrows, figures, bar codes, stencils... The various symbols help mark out his work and move away from the abstract universe of their creation.
