Marie-Jo Daloz

The artist is originally from Franche Comté. Today she lives and works in Alsace.

Nature has always been a favorite place for her. Since her early childhood she has had a very special relationship with her.

At 20 she left to study. The world then opens up to her, responding to this curiosity that has always inhabited her: “to look at the other side of the horizon".

After numerous trips to Asia, the Middle East and South America, her steps lead her to rediscover these spaces from which she had strayed, without distance or measure, thus revealing to her the sense of this imperative necessity for painting which has always continued.

“Painting in the forest is not painting the landscape but painting with it, with what makes it up. Painting to feel equal to a branch, to a breath… thus accessing another consciousness of existence. »

For a dozen years her painting has continued to be enriched with this particular energy that she maintains with the beings of nature. His painting is what results from this relationship, going to encounter the fragile, the ephemeral, turning away from what is impetuous, dreaming of a life where we invoke the small things rather than the excessive is his way to assert resistance in the face of the frantic race of the world which needs arrogance to move forward.
