Claude Bertrand (peintre)

France • 1940

Biography

Like mosaics of vivid and vibrant colors, Claude Bertrand's works are nourished by a vibrant pictorial style, a personal and recognizable style at first glance, which has now been her for several years.

From this furioso of pure colors, vigorous but often without contours, springs an atmospheric invoice of painting in the mellowness of the whole. Emersion and fainting, blur and subtle passages dominate the painting with stretches of acrylic or a material that captures the buried aspects of the world she is exploring. Through these subtleties, which the artist masters with heightened sensuality and sensitivity, the viewer is confronted with a moment of sharing around almost cubic landscapes, fleeting moments of life. These fragmentations of the composition, in plots of color, are part, for the artist living in the south of France, of a work that allows constant renewal. A necessity.
