Biography
"For me, painting is the implacable mirror of mood, suspended between self-therapy, quotation, reflection and instinct. It is a tool to access Beauty, to improve and progress. in a journey of self-analysis, which does not indulge in easy solutions." Salvatore Zito lives and works in Turin. He graduated in painting from the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts, where he held the chair of decoration.
Classically trained painter with a spectacular technique, he applies this particularity to all the artistic experiences he chooses to go through. Zito works in cycles: Ferraris, Coca-Cola, watermelons, tides, still lifes, Spiderman and ice cream sticks have gradually populated his works, approached in an ever new way: sometimes with impetuous passion, sometimes with scholarly quotations, sometimes with heartbreaking gestures and expressiveness supported by rich and intense chromaticity.
Salvatore Zito likes to be seduced by the intrinsic beauty of color and uses it to construct subtle ironies.
