Biography
Chen Sun Chung is an artist and art educator. He was born in Malaysia in 1935 and graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore in 1955.
Chung's ink paintings are produced in the classical Chinese tradition; however, he seamlessly combines his calligraphy with a Western oil painting palette.
Chung has held 17 solo exhibitions internationally, including in Taiwan, China, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. He has also participated in shows in the United States, across Europe, in Canada and Brazil.
Chung has been part of various institutions in his endeavors to promote art. These include roles in the Malaysian Institute of Art, which he founded, and the Malaysian Chinese Cultural Society.
