Biography

Considered one of the pioneers of color photography in England, John Blumer has worked with the Sunday Times Magazine since its very first edition color at the beginning of 1970.

After a few years of studies and work at the University of Cambridge, John Bulmer between the Daily Express in London as a photographer.

After a few collaborations with Paris Match and the fashion magazine Town Magazine, the career of John Bulmer takes a real turning point in the publication of the first color supplement by the Sunday Times, widely imitated by the suite. John shared the coverage from 1 number with David Bailey thanks to a photograph of a footballer. His original point of view and his treatment of the colors font immediately of him one of the contributors the most prolific of reportage in color of the magazine.

Bulmer went by the suite toward the achievement of documentaries filmed mainly broadcast on BBC, Nat Geo and Discovery Channel.

His work has been several times rewarded by the Design and Art Directors Club and he was exposed to the Gallery of Modern Art in New York as well as at the National Museum of Photography in Bradford
his works are parts of institutional collections including the European House of photography and private collections such as Sir Elton John.
