Presentation

Ryan Callanan, also known by his nickname East Londoner RYCA, is part of the group of art called "Scrawl Collective, based in London. He finished his studies in art in 2002.

The seventh art, pop art and the Renaissance influence his creations.

He delights in the art of pop culture inspired by street art, he integrates historical elements in a new context. He infuses the old to the contemporary in the content of his art and through its shape. His pastiches take shape by the creation of models and 3 dimensional designs, designs that can be seen everywhere in the city. Audacity and irony combine with aesthetics. For example, he put a burka on the Mona Lisa during an acclaimed exhibition in London. He did not hesitate to modify Hamlet's speech during his "Skull of War".

RYCA's work has been exhibited internationally in successful exhibitions.
