Biography

Lisa Grubb is a contemporary American artist known for her distinctive pop art style, characterized by bold colors and irresistibly charming characters. Her work radiates vibrant energy, creating a joyful and optimistic atmosphere. Grubb often uses layered acrylic paint in a three-dimensional manner to bring her creations to life, making them appear as though they've leapt from a fantastical world. Her bold use of hues like turquoise, crimson red, and spring green—combined in unexpected ways—gives her paintings a playful and humorous quality.

In addition to her painting career, Lisa Grubb is the author and illustrator of two children's books, Happy Dog! and Happy Dog Sizzles!, both published by Philomel Books, a division of Penguin Putnam. In 1998, she collaborated with Warner Brothers, painting iconic characters such as Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. This led to a successful solo exhibition at the Warner Brothers Gallery on Fifth Avenue in New York. She was also commissioned to reinterpret classic Disney characters, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, in her signature style. In 1997, Grubb created a three-meter-high depiction of Spider-Man for Marvel Entertainment at the Los Angeles Art Expo, where comic book legend Stan Lee personally signed the work.

Grubb's artwork has been widely exhibited internationally and is held in collections across the United States, Europe, Japan, Australia, and Canada. Her work has been featured in several art publications, including Art Business News, Art Trends, and Fine Art Magazine. Lisa Grubb continues to captivate audiences with her dynamic and colorful art, bringing joy and whimsy to the world of contemporary pop art.
