Animal Painting for Sale
There's nothing quite like the raw beauty of an animal painting. For centuries, artists around the world have been inspired by animals of all shapes and sizes, from man's best friend to enormous elephants, birds, fearsome lions to field mice.
In ink, acrylic, watercolor, oil or even spray paint, there's a technique for everyone! Contemporary artists explore innovative ways to depict their admiration of the animal kingdom. Painting is one of the most expressive mediums, and artists expertly capture the movement and grace of animals in motion. Think wild horses galloping in the countryside or cheetahs prowling: thick brushstrokes full of energy and great attention to detail reproduce their vitality.
And what a way to spice up an interior? The only elephant in the room will be your wildlife masterpiece. Take a walk on the wild side with Artsper's animal paintings!
Which artist paints animals?
One artist who is known for her paintings of animals is French painter Rosa Bonheur, whose artistic career spanned the second half of the 19th century. Although her career has largely been ignored in the art historical canon, Bonheur was an extremely popular artist during her lifetime. She had a love for animals, one of her most important works being The Horse Fair, which depicts the horse market held in Paris on the Boulevard de l'Hôpital.
Why represent animals in art?
One reason that artists represent animals in art is to convey the relationship between humans and the rest of the animal kingdom. Animals are also often represented in art to represent the beauty of the natural world, or to symbolise an idea. An example of animals as symbols in art is the use of the tiger in Tibet as a symbol of strength and courage.
Why did prehistoric humans draw animals?
Prehistoric humans often drew animals because they played an integral role in their everyday life and survival. Animals often provided the sole means of acquiring food, tools and warm clothing.
