Fashion Photography for Sale

Fashion photography's initial role was simply to depict haute couture in the pages of magazines. Today however it is considered an art form, a status that it acquired only recently. The history of fashion photography is closely related to the evolution of fashion in the last century. Today we see it in art books, in museums, auction houses and galleries. Fashion photography is the result of the joint effort of advertising professionals, stylists and models. In the words of Karl Lagerfeld, it is a collaborative form of art. Some of the photographers that have contributed to the rise of fashion photography as an art form are Richard Avedon, Herb Ritts, Helmut Newton, Patrick Demarchier, Mario Testino and Terry Richardson.
