Planting, one piece after another to gradually form a “landscape of will”. From partials, a complete project is patched up eventually. Inspired by the aura surging from the earth, I relate myself to the soil with my art. The number after each title, such as Planting-246318, indicates the total area that I’ve planted so far.
The form of circle symbolizes the traditional Chinese concept that the heaven is round and the earth is square. These concept has been expanded as the unity of man and the universe. The rice husks spread over the canvases are extending from circles and little by little accumulating into fulfilled spheres. There are parts of the “landscape of will”.
