Presentation
Bea Kusovszky's painting manifests several styles. Her figures are painted in a realist manner, and then placed in a setting inspired by a known painter's iconic piece. Similarly, her treatment of Roy Lichtenstein's paintings as inspiration shows a liberty to treat his work loosely. She modifies the colour scheme, adds or omits elements based on the original piece. When painting, she also utilises Pop Art's favourite screen printing technique to get even closer to the original – at an arm's length.
