In this fusion of acrylic, collage, pencil, and latex, I've poured my soul to craft an intricate dance of abstract and figurative elements. The semi-abstract nature invites interpretation, weaving narratives in the viewer's mind. Every stroke and collage piece is an echo of emotion, a symphony of the past and present in harmonious disarray. At the center of the canvas, the figure of La Gioconda emerges with an enigmatic expression, her penetrating gaze capturing the viewer's attention. Presentation
I am Josep Pozo Catalan artist. I am 50 years old, and I live in a small town surrounded by volcanoes, called Olot and situated in the north of Catalonia, Spain.
As far as art is concerned, I am interested in everything, I believe that art is culture and that all art helps us to live and to educate ourselves.
I am currently focused on the figure, my latest works are about the human figure, looking for characters that attract me or that bring me memories. I also work with rural and urban landscapes in my surroundings.
In my works I use different materials to make the collage, which I recycle myself, such as the paper and cardboard that you receive from the parcels, the coffee grounds once dry, the cardboard from the egg cartons, the cans of soft drinks, so I try to be more sustainable.
A characteristic of my characters is that they have no identity.
I am motivated by my interest in discovering new textures, I investigate with different materials to make collages in my works.
I identify myself as an expressionist artist, self-taught with the palette and rebellious.
In my works I use a mixed technique, on paper, canvas or wood.
