About Peppone: Born 1970 into a family of educators, Peppone, the pseudonym of French-Canadian artist Christophe Tixier, was instilled with the belief that sharing is one of life's greatest riches. His journey as an artist began with comic books gifted by his father, which he continued to expand through flea markets, auctions, and the generosity of friends and strangers. By carving into his abundant paper collection, Peppone breathes life into his works, establishing a heartfelt connection with his past and perpetuating his father's legacy.

Peppone is a 45-year-old French artist who lives and works near Aix-en-Provence. He is known for his works that blend memory, popular culture, and collage techniques, often centered on the world of Tintin . Passionate about this iconic character, Peppone is a tireless collector: he has collected nearly 500 albums, sometimes incomplete, that he unearths at garage sales, library sales, or receives from friends and curious onlookers. Each find is for him the opportunity for a new connection, a human exchange, or a rekindled memory.
Beyond the collection, these albums represent a personal legacy. The first copies of Tintin that Peppone received came from his father, shortly after his death. This transmission had a profound impact on the artist, who sees Tintin as a pillar of affection and a bridge between generations. His work is thus driven by a quest for meaning, a desire to keep this family bond alive through the creative act.
In his studio, Peppone breathes new life into these childhood fragments. He cuts, assembles, and maroufles old pages to create works that are both nostalgic and powerfully contemporary. By blending art and memory, he transforms a paper legacy into a personal work, full of emotion and universality.
