The greatest gift you possess
Have you ever felt that connection? It is like a short glimpse of the universum that is leading life and show me what to do.
Painting to me is al about that connection. Not only techniques or an image in my head. It is different, I feel the polar bears, I connect with the polar bears and my hands and emotions translate where I am connected to.
It is almost surreal and when I am out of that field of connection I can hardly believe it.
So when I have that connection I want to hold it forever, but is very difficult to hold that field of connection for a long time. So the glimpse wants to fade away, as a window that closes after you have seen the most beautiful view.
And every time that window wants to close I leave my brush in the opening, so it doesn't close all the way.
Every time I am working, I open that window wider again, so I know what to do. It is perfectly showing me what my mission is about, how a work should be. It guides me when I paint and that is why I feel the urge to make my art, show it to the world.
This is how the series The Unforgettable was born. Amazing animals that almost disappear. Each painting is a story, a code, what can we do to keep these beauties and what they represent.
