Can we really see light without shadow? Is the essential beyond what we think we perceive? My work is a pictorial and alchemical exploration, an artistic quest where painting becomes a passage between the visible and the invisible.
Each work begins with a painting on canvas or paper, a living material, a first burst of energy and emotion. Then comes the stage of transmutation, where color reinvents itself, where light reverses to reveal another reality. This transformation is at the heart of Inversalism®, an artistic approach that I have trademarked, combining chromatic inversion, luminous metamorphosis, and vibratory reinterpretation.
My exclusive process thus allows me to give birth to unique works, which disturb, challenge and invite us to go beyond appearances.
When we stare at a negative image for a long time, a fascinating phenomenon occurs: by closing our eyes or looking at a neutral surface, the eye reconstructs the image as a positive. This phenomenon, called afterimage, is a natural property of the brain: the retina, saturated by one color, seeks balance by reproducing its opposite.
It is precisely this subtle shift between light and shadow that inspires my work. Each inverted painting acts as a lasting imprint, a vibration that does not reveal itself immediately but persists and reveals itself with time and attention.
Thus, my works are not fixed: they invite the spectator to immerse himself in the experience of looking, to explore another perception of reality.
Inversalism® is not limited to a simple inversion of colors. Each work is born from an initial, purely pictorial phase, a composition created in watercolor, oil, or acrylic, where light is shaped by the hand, the pigment, and the medium. Like the old masters, I explore transparencies, the superposition of materials, and the vibratory balance of colors, seeking to capture the very essence of the image.
Then comes the transmutation stage, a passage where ancestral knowledge interacts with contemporary tools. Like a reverse daguerreotype, the work is subjected to a new revelation.
The digital intervention here acts like a modern darkroom, where the image is revisited, explored under new chromatic frequencies. Contrasts intensify, hues are transformed, as if the work itself were revealing hidden dimensions. This phase does not replace the painter's hand; it extends and amplifies the metamorphosis, allowing the light to recompose itself differently.
Printing on a noble and resonant support, often brushed metal, fixes this mutation and accentuates the play of light, offering a changing materiality where the image seems to evolve according to the viewing angle and the light intensity.
But the alchemy doesn't stop there. The paint takes over, sealing the ultimate transfiguration. In this final stage, layers of pigments, paint, ink, and precious metals are applied, enriching the texture and intensifying the energy of the work. Each addition is a vibration, a resonance, a final breath that anchors the image in its final dimension.
Thus, each creation becomes a modern relic, an alchemy of the visible and the invisible, a dialogue between matter and light, between tradition and transmutation.

Carole Framezelle – Creator of L'Inversalisme®
An alchemical painting, a passage between worlds
Carole Framezelle explores the boundaries of perception through L'Inversalisme®, a pictorial and vibratory approach she has trademarked. Her work questions the relationship between light and shadow, visible and invisible, offering a sensory experience where the image transforms before the viewer's gaze.
Each work is born from an initial pictorial gesture, executed on canvas or paper. Then, like a reverse daguerreotype, the image undergoes a transmutation where light and color reinvent themselves. This transformation does not freeze the work: it animates it, giving it a unique vibration, evolving according to the viewing angle and the light intensity.
Inversalism®: an alchemy of the gaze
Inversalism® is based on a subtle exploration of perception and the phenomenon of afterimage. When a viewer gazes at an inverted work for a long time, their gaze instinctively reconstructs the hidden image. This play of light and shadow creates a lasting impression, a resonance that persists beyond the moment of contemplation.
This sensory dialogue is at the heart of Carole Framezelle's work. She seeks not only to represent, but to make us feel: each creation becomes a passage, a door to another reality, where the viewer is invited to interact with the work.
An exclusive and protected process
Far from a simple chromatic inversion, his work is the result of in-depth research into light and matter. Each painting undergoes several phases of transformation, resulting in a composition fixed on a noble and resonant support, whose surface captures and transforms the light.
The resulting works seem to evolve with the time of day, offering a different interpretation with each glance. This unique approach, combining pictorial art, visual illusion, and transmutation, makes each creation a vibratory imprint, a balance between materiality and mystery.
Acmiya: a vibrational signature
Each of Carole Framezelle's works bears the Acmiya signature, symbolizing an artistic quest in which art becomes a bridge between worlds. Her creations are not simply contemplated; they challenge, question, and resonate.
Paint differently. Invert the light. Reveal the invisible.
