Collector’s Guide
Vincent is a painter from Hauts-de-France.
From an early age, Vincent was immersed in the world of vintage cars with his father and his 2 brothers.
In fact, as a child, Sunday mornings were reserved for family crafts in the garage at the back of the garden. The advantage of having a garage mechanic neighbor made it possible to restart old cars unearthed by his father.
Front wheel drive, Citroen DS, Jepp Willys, Delahaye 134, Peugeot 301, Renault Rodéo, Citroen Méhari, Citroen 2cv, MG Midget give him the passion for old cars.
And very quickly, the boys of this siblings began to tinker with old mopeds and motorcycles. The first motorcycle he restored, at 14/15 years old, was a Peugeot 100cc from 1939 type 53.
As a teenager, he rode a Flandria 50 cm3 Mirage type with 3 speeds on the handlebars. Then, in 1990, his first car was a beige Renault 4L with its burgundy imitation interior and transparent bakelite steering wheel! As for his first collector's car, it was a Peugeot 304 Cabriolet Jaune Maïs from 1973.
The taste for painting and drawing marked his childhood with watercolors, drawings in pencil or in India ink.
After high school, Vincent did preparatory classes for the grandes écoles where cartoons representing his teachers or scenes from everyday life in the class, made friends laugh and circulated "under the cloak".
It was at this time that Vincent was in collocation with a cartoonist. This striking meeting intensified his passion for the art of drawing.
In the evening, lonely in his student room, and fallen under the spell of the works of Vincent Van Gogh (bearing the same first name), he made reproductions of his works in oil paint and made with a knife .
The use of colors, texture, volume specific to this technique fascinated him, just as much as the artist's life. A few years ago, after acquiring a garage to store his vintage cars, he found himself with body parts that he radically refused to throw away.
Considering that this is part of the French automobile heritage, and moreover that he wanted to decorate this garage, he instantly wanted to give a second life to these parts.
The idea of painting comic strip scenes, on body parts, highlighting the car from which it came, comes naturally.
This is how he has been painting, for more than 4 years, 2Cv on rear fenders or 2Cv trunks as well as DS on DS hoods and fenders. Making himself known on the social network Facebook, he paints on demand, personalized garage scenes, pleasing and sharing his passion.
