Description
The graphic approach here is based on an urban pop aesthetic. The gaze falls on a minimalist composition where the void becomes the subject.
The artist uses recycled materials to explore memory and transformation.
Acrylic and polystyrene intertwine in a play of subtle textures.
The bas-relief aspect suggests a portrait in decline.
The gesture relies on deliberate erasure. The material seems to dissolve to better reveal a phantom presence.
This visual research questions our relationship to time and the environment.
The absence of sharp outlines creates a sensation of evanescence.
The neutral white background accentuates the contrast with the areas of whiteness.
This 2026 creation combines painting and mixed media on a flat support.
The whole is defined by a balance between graphic precision and controlled chaos.
Presentation
Christophe Ruiz is a French visual artist, born in Pau in 1965. His approach is part of an urban pop aesthetic that combines ecological commitment and graphic energy. Working with recycled materials, he brings matter back to life by exploring the notions of transformation, evanescence and memory.
Her works, halfway between painting, collage, and bas-relief, evoke the controlled chaos of a changing world. Acetone, used to alter surfaces, becomes a tool of revelation: it dissolves to better reveal. Each piece bears the trace of a deliberate erasure, a crumbling that questions our relationship to time, the body, and the environment.
Present on Artsper for several years, Christophe Ruiz has attracted collectors who are sensitive to committed contemporary art, which is at once raw, poetic and resolutely current.
