Description
S1844
Oil painting Girl in Red with a Fan Victor Konotopsky is a striking figurative portrait that combines expressive color, decorative rhythm, and a strong sense of character. The young woman is depicted in a vivid red costume and matching headpiece, holding a richly patterned fan against an intense blue background. Konotopsky demonstrates exceptional artistic mastery through bold brushwork, simplified forms, and a confident command of contrasting colors. Saturated crimson and cobalt blue create immediate visual impact, while pale green, lavender, yellow, and soft pink accents add complexity and balance. The artist skillfully stylizes the face and costume without losing emotional expression, giving the portrait both elegance and individuality. Strong outlines, textured paint, and carefully placed highlights enhance the graphic quality of the composition, while the colorful fan becomes an important decorative focal point. This original oil painting is ideal for collectors of female portraits, figurative art, expressive realism, colorful interiors, decorative painting, and distinctive modern fine art.
Presentation
Viktor Konotopsky was born in 1967 in the village of Maleshkovka, Nedrigailovsky district, Sumy region.
Graduated from the Kharkiv State Art School and the Faculty of Arts of the Saratov State Pedagogical University named after Makarenko.
Worked as a drawing and drafting teacher, and an artist in the advertising field.
In the 90s, he lived and worked in Poland (Krakow and Szczecin) and St. Petersburg.
Viktor had many temptations to catch some fashionable artistic disease, but he remained himself.
Judging his painting by the standards of world artistic fashion is as absurd as declaring love with the memorized words of a popular literary hero. In this sense, it is naive, but the naivety of a professionally educated person. His paintings are realistic, although stylized. The landscapes are easily recognizable, but they contain a generalization leading to an image.
