Description
S1854
Oil painting Winter Evening in the Village Victor Konotopsky is a captivating rural landscape that conveys the quiet beauty and emotional depth of a snow-covered evening scene. The artist masterfully depicts a village road, modest houses, heavy winter drifts, and the soft movement of a solitary figure, creating an atmosphere of silence, calm, and lived-in authenticity. Konotopsky's skill is especially evident in his confident brushwork and his refined handling of cool blue, violet, gray, and white tones, which bring freshness, harmony, and natural light to the composition. The textured surface and expressive strokes give the painting both energy and intimacy, while the balanced arrangement of forms leads the viewer naturally through the scene. This original oil painting reflects the artist's strong command of mood, color, and structure, making it a compelling choice for collectors of winter landscapes, village scenes, impressionist art, rural painting, and atmospheric contemporary fine art.
Presentation
Viktor Konotopsky was born in 1967 in the village of Maleshkovka, Nedrigailovsky district, Sumy region.
Graduated from the Kharkiv State Art School and the Faculty of Arts of the Saratov State Pedagogical University named after Makarenko.
Worked as a drawing and drafting teacher, and an artist in the advertising field.
In the 90s, he lived and worked in Poland (Krakow and Szczecin) and St. Petersburg.
Viktor had many temptations to catch some fashionable artistic disease, but he remained himself.
Judging his painting by the standards of world artistic fashion is as absurd as declaring love with the memorized words of a popular literary hero. In this sense, it is naive, but the naivety of a professionally educated person. His paintings are realistic, although stylized. The landscapes are easily recognizable, but they contain a generalization leading to an image.
