Biografia
Artista visivo nato nel 1965, Christophe Stouvenel “Kiki” trae le sue influenze espressive e tecniche dalla cultura degli anni '80.
È con il suo soprannome d’infanzia che “Kiki” già firma i suoi primi disegni…
Durante i suoi studi di arti visive, all'angolo di una strada, si è trovato faccia a faccia con un dipinto di 4x3 metri di “Kiki Picasso”, semplicemente incollato su un cartello urbano. Incapace di resistere, quest'opera, che rappresentava un Babbo Natale, fu demolita la notte successiva e servì per lungo tempo come decorazione nella sua stanza da studente.
Per Christophe Stouvenel, artisticamente parlando, essere “Kiki” diventa allora ovvio. Così spiega il suo attaccamento al suo soprannome: c'è un Picasso, una Kiki Picasso... d'ora in poi ci sarà una Kiki.
“Kiki” ha una predilezione per l'uso di supporti e mezzi dell'arte urbana: combina il lavoro con stencil, la messa in scena e il collage di manifesti strappati, l'appropriazione indebita di parole come slogan pubblicitario. Tante tecniche e approcci che riflettono non solo l'influenza culturale e artistica della sua adolescenza, ma anche quella della sua sensibilità e della sua interpretazione del mondo di oggi.
