For this new collection of works, CONNECTIONS, Martínez Marín explores the theme of connections:

“Network connections are the links or channels through which two or more devices — such as computers, servers, mobile phones, or embedded systems — can exchange data.
Electrical connections are the union of two or more conductors that allow current to pass between them.
Well-executed connections, whatever their type, ensure a safe and efficient flow, while faulty connections can lead to problems such as short circuits, fires, or equipment failures.
The same holds true for human connections."

This artwork is a vibrant network of interwoven lines, forming a complex and captivating maze of colors and geometric shapes. Bright colors — red, blue, yellow, and green — cross and intertwine, creating a dynamic visual harmony. Each line seems to follow its own path, contributing to an overall impression of movement and fluidity. Circles and patterns punctuate the composition, adding extra dimension and intriguing depth. The artist successfully blends apparent chaos with underlying structure, offering the viewer an endless exploration of detail. This painting evokes an abstract map of connections, where every element plays a unique and essential role. It is an invitation to reflect on the complexity of networks — both personal and collective — while admiring the artist's technical mastery.

This work of art presents a complex entanglement of multicolored lines forming a labyrinthine network on a light background. Each line, with its own distinct hue, winds its way across the canvas, creating numerous intersections and dynamic patterns that evoke a circuit board or an urban grid. The vivid colors — reds, blues, greens, oranges, and more — bring vibrant energy, contrasting with the softer tones of the background. Geometric shapes punctuate the whole, adding a structured dimension to the composition. The painting navigates between order and chaos, captivating the viewer with its visual complexity. Line thickness varies, enhancing depth and drawing the eye into a winding journey through this bold creation. A modern piece that brilliantly illustrates the interconnection and constant motion of contemporary life.

Presentation

MAINMAN (Pedro Martinez Marín) Mainman is an artist born in Barcelona.

Much of her work is inspired by nature, the fragility of its beauty and its vulnerability as a metaphor for the transience of our existence, as nothing is imperishable.

Experience the tension between chaos and control. You get rid of boundaries by using unconventional materials. He feels that he is developing as if he wanted to discover a new beginning with a very personal, improvised and expressive language, also linked to the very concept of modern civilization being questioned. Fold the paint with brushstrokes and smudges that manifest strong emotional content. This process is for Martinez Marin like a catharsis of life, a wild celebration of freedom.

He is interested in human nature, in particular its rejection of the abuse of power. Uses the figure as a means of analyzing or rather researching and challenging contemporary ideas about the racial, sexual or social identity of the community, society, emphasizing the physical reality of the body and above all the importance psychological aspects that determine it.

He currently resides between Barcelona and Vejer de la Frontera (Cádiz).

He studied at Eina (Design Grafico. Barcelona 1990-92), Industrial School of Barcelona (Jewellery. 1995-96). Barcelona Academy of Art (Painting and drawing 2017-2019). Alas. (Masters in "Body and Art", Barcelona. 2016-2017).
