Olivier Boissinot is a self-taught artist whose passion for painting was revealed at an exhibition in Arles, where he was deeply moved by the works of Van Gogh. His artistic style oscillates between the figurative and the synthetic, featuring flat areas of colour enhanced by black. His artistic evolution seems to be leading him towards abstraction, exploring new creative frontiers.
A native of Aix-en-Provence, Olivier Boissinot is deeply attached to his native Provence, and has always lived between two contrasting towns: Aix, bourgeois and hushed, and Marseille, popular and passionate. Inspired by the moods of these two worlds, he draws on their serenity and effervescence.
His innate curiosity led him to travel the globe, exploring different regions of the world, including the United States, Morocco and various European countries. These journeys leave a visible imprint on some of his favourite pictorial themes: Provençal landscapes, jazz in New Orleans, scenes of life in Morocco and bullfighting.
Olivier Boissinot has been painting, exhibiting and selling his work around the world for over thirty years. His artistic approach is deeply sensory, based on the juxtaposition of pure colours that give him intense emotions, which he wishes to share with the public. His paintings sparkle with brilliant colours, celebrating life and inviting viewers to immerse themselves in his spellbinding artistic universe.
