In 2013, a trip to New York inspires her to paint the city in watercolor. She enjoys layering paint, washes, to give relief and depth, mix colors, create blurs, reflect cloudy atmospheres. Intense colors and Chinese ink highlights provide contrast and a very contemporary reinterpretation of watercolor ...to which she integrates fragments of newspaper.

Vanessa Renoux is a contemporary French artist. Lightness and movement, transparency and light, all a work to gain freedom, freedom of pigments and poetry of forms.
Vanessa Renoux works sculpture with recycled materials, primarily recycled newspaper. Creating colorful patinas gives sculptures in trompe-l'oeil, the "paper-bronze". Newspaper allows more freedoms, gravity is less present, lightness and mobility are thus possible. Her sculptures explore dance attitudes and movement, animal sculptures are feline, sleek, and stylized (cats, bulls, horses...).
A trip to New York inspires her to paint the city in watercolor. She likes to layer paint, washes, to give relief and depth, mix colors, create blurs, reflect cloudy atmospheres. She also paints the landscapes around her (Annecy, its lake, the countryside) and the cities she visits.
Recently, her work inspired by Japanese prints has been very successful.
Vanessa Renoux was born in 1973 in the Drôme region and lives near Annecy.
