Mitro has created his career as a true American success story. Encouraged by his parents from an early age to develop his imagination and his taste for colors and painting, he successfully passed the entrance examination to the National University of Arts in Bucharest.
He will then follow a training in graphic arts, painting, restoration and sculpture. He will come out valedictorian. This is followed by numerous participations in group exhibitions in Romania. From 1982 he also works in the restoration and decoration of various museums, churches and theaters in different cities of Romania.
The year 1990 is a turning point for the artist. His wife Greta Manta, a renowned actress in her country, is invited to the Cannes Film Festival. During this stay, the couple fell in love with France and decided to settle there. It was also during this trip that Mitro discovered Venice, a city that would mark him deeply, both personally and artistically. Installed in Normandy with his family, Mitro paints at night and works during the day as a graphic designer in Paris until 1995, when he decides to devote himself entirely to his painting. A dozen exhibitions will be devoted to him in the 1990s in France, Belgium, Switzerland and Germany. He won first prize from the jury at group exhibitions in Rouen, Vascœuil and Maromme.
Venice remains the subject that will continue to inspire and thrill the painter.
From 2000, things accelerated with the consecration of Mitro as one of the great contemporary French painters. It is a great success with French and foreign amateurs. Since then, many exhibitions have been organized in France, Europe and the United States.
His paintings are present today in private collections in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Japan and in the main European countries.
