The work was created for the exhibition "We are the story because we tell it to ourselves" in Lecce in 2011 and is published in the catalog which will be sent with all the documentation. The work is a photograph of smoke coming out of an incense burner. Incense has many religious and cultural connotations, the one that interests the artist most is the idea of a representation for lost souls. Signed on the certificate of authenticity.

Stephanie Powell was born on a Navy base in Yokosuka, Japan, in 1972. She is Adjunct Associate Professor in the Photography Department at Pratt Institute and has over twenty years' experience as a photographer, artist and educator. Her clients range from creative agencies to individual architecture, fashion and food and beverage brands. Stephanie is also an internationally exhibiting artist who has recently been featured in Flaunt magazine and I Heart Photography. She has an M.F.A. in Photography from the Art Institute of Chicago and a B.F.A in Studio Art from the University of Oregon.
Among the latest solo exhibitions: 2021 - "I can see it in your eyes", Vox Populi, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Among the latest group exhibitions: 2019 - Members exhibition (best photograph honor), awarded by Jocelyn Miller, curator MOMA PS1, Guild Hall, East Hampton, New York, US.
