Following the success of the exhibition Serge Gainsbourg and Caetera at the Galerie One Toutou with We Need Art at the Marché Dauphine in Saint-Ouen, the artists of L'atelier. Espace de création have chosen to present around thirty works on the universe of this essential French artist of the past century. Their illustrations, customs and paintings are already exhibited in Paris and have aroused the enthusiasm of the public.
Why choose to create this event?
Yarps, at the origin of the Parisian exhibition, is a friend of Tarek and Mat Elbé with whom he has performed numerous performances at 5 rue de Verneuil, an emblematic place for the singer's fans. His works will be visible in this exhibition as well as stencils by Mat Elbé and collaborations between these three companions... Olivier Nestelhut, Vincent Pompetti and Audrey Rouvin, also present at the Marché Dauphine, played the game once again and will present new works . Music will be at the center of this exhibition, especially since Olivier in another life played pieces by Gainsbourg in cabarets and other jazz clubs... The circle will therefore be complete!
The artists of the gallery have chosen to invite other creators to give this event a colorful, lively and musical touch...
In Paris, 30 artists celebrated Gainsbourg's 30th birthday, while in Rennes, 30 works will mark this anniversary date.

Imagine it at home
Gwendal Lemercier was born in 1977 in Brittany, he studied applied arts and obtained a BTS Design Graphic Designer. A graduate in art from the Beaux Arts de Brest, he worked as an illustrator in 1998 in the book l'imaginaire celtique, at Mira.
At the same time, he joined the Soleil and Delcourt editions to adapt Breton and Scottish tales Les Contes de l'Ankou and Les Contes des Hautes Terres into comics. He then collaborated in the production of the video game "Heroes 5" at Ubisoft, participated in two other collective works, one devoted to the city of Brest and the other to the liner Normandy.
In the Soleil Celtic collection, he produced an illustrated book on dragons and then a dark fantasy comic book series: Les Arcanes d'Alya. He accompanies the series The Twilight of the Gods with a one-shot and joins his screenwriter to start a new series entitled: Durandal, the story of Roland and Charlemagne in a genre combining history.
The fact of having traveled through this last universe from Scandinavian mythology to the Viking invasions in Brittany has made it possible to bring together a small collection of paintings and drawings. This gave rise to a collaboration with the Galerie Oblique in Paris and the museum of the former abbey of Landévénnec to develop the exhibition on the theme: “Brittany, the Vikings and comic strips: myths and realities”.
In June 2014, the Charlemagne comic strip was released by Glénat editions. The same year, he participated in two other series published by Soleil. The project that occupies him currently is a series on the history of Brittany: with a first volume based on the events of the 9th century.

Can I negotiate the price of an artwork?
For some artworks, you can negotiate the price. If the price of the work is negotiable, you have a “Make an offer” button under the “Buy this work” one.
To submit your offer, you must make a payment of the desired amount. Your offer will then be forwarded to the gallery, which reserves the right to accept or reject it. If your offer is accepted, it means that your order is confirmed by the gallery and they will prepare the artwork for shipment. If your offer is rejected, you will be refunded the total amount paid automatically. The gallery can also propose a counter-offer for the acquisition of the artwork.

Where can I have my order delivered?

However, please note that once your order reaches its destination, it may be subject to VAT or other customs fees. These charges are beyond our control and you will be responsible for paying them (this is indicated at the ‘checkout’ first step).

Return and cancellation
You can return the artwork without needing to provide a reason or pay a penalty fee up to 14 days after receiving your order.
In the case that the right of withdrawal is exercised in the aforementioned time frame, the price of the artwork(s) purchased and the shipping costs will be reimbursed by us as soon as the gallery has received the artwork and notified us.
Artsper will manage the return of the work and will bear the cost of returns (which will either be paid by you and refunded by Artsper or directly paid by Artsper).
The artwork must be returned in perfect condition and in its original packaging (or equivalent).
