ALFREDO STENGHER : Painter born in Livorno (Italy) 1920 – 2000He is a fervent nature enthusiast and therefore his line of paintings concern people and nature.Self-taught, knowledgeable of many painting techniques, he prefers the Macchiaioli School. he loves painting figures, seascapes and Tuscan landscapes.He has participated in several collective and personal exhibitions, always obtaining good criticism.Alfredo Stengher's style, which remains consistent in all his works, is based on a great sense of color and an immediate and cursive drafting.
With just a few touches of color the painter manages to construct the subjects, guaranteeing great immediacy to the landscape or to the reproductions from life. It can be said, therefore, that Stengher's stylistic register certainly starts from an impressionistic-type influencing decision, which however is taken to the extreme consequences of immediacy and speed of execution. In this way, just like the impressionists, Stengher can record the vibrations of light and atmosphere on objects, but, at the same time, he exercises a more accentuated synthesis of sensitive data, arriving at a representation of reality with a great lyrical sense.
