The Sacré-Cœur Basilica leaves a lasting impression. Even on a cloudy winter day, its white walls catch the light, shining through the clouds. Like a monument to the Sun, the stones of the cathedral grow brighter each year, washed clean by the rain. For me, the Sacré-Cœur has become a symbol of endurance, a reminder that after every storm comes a clear and fresh sky.
One day, after the war began, I witnessed a sunset where the sun's rays bathed everything in a golden glow. That image now merges with my memories of the cathedral. The radiant halo of light feels like a blessing for both the city and Ukraine, a tribute to the unity with which the Ukrainian people defend their country, and a symbol of hope for peace.
About series
This painting is from the "Hope" series, where the idea of preserving one's identity despite challenging circumstances is conveyed, as well as the hope for a return to peaceful life. In her work, Ksenia does not depict the pain of internal conflict. Instead, she seeks points of support to rise and move forward, to help others rebuild their lives.
Inspired by my inner journey, I created a series of small still lifes and landscapes centered around a Moroccan theme. These light, radiant, and slightly naive paintings each highlight the unique character of individual lemon trees. Childhood tales from the East captivated me, and today, Morocco serves as my oasis of inspiration.

Ksenia Tsyganyuk, born in 1991 in northern Russia, began her artistic career after moving to Rivne, Ukraine. Her paintings—landscapes and still lifes—capture a joyful, childlike sense of wonder through vibrant colors, rich textures, and ornamental details. With a touch of naïveté in her imagery, she seeks to awaken the viewer's “inner child," reminding them of how beautiful the world is when one is free from expectations, eager to explore, and ready to experiment.
In today's fast-changing and stressful world—marked by crises, wars, and forced migration—it's easy to lose balance and feel overwhelmed. Ksenia's art offers a moment of respite, inviting viewers into a dialogue with their own feelings of lightness and freedom. She hopes to rekindle the emotions of childhood, when one felt safe, at home, and surrounded by love. Her goal is to create art that helps people reconnect with their inner Sun—the light that guides them through life.
Ksenia works in mixed media, blending acrylic and oil on canvas. She favors a loose, expressive style that preserves the spontaneity of each brushstroke, allowing emotions to flow freely onto the canvas.
