The female nude becomes a canvas on which we paint with light and shadow. The curvature of the woman's body is accentuated by the spiraling circular shapes projected onto her body. The figure is bounded by the negative space of the black background, while her luminous skin cuts through the interstices of shadow. This image is characteristic of Lotus' style, which plays with light, shadow and geometric shapes to create striking and refined photographs. Lotus often abstracts his figures, the shapes they create becoming more important than their features.

Drawing inspiration from classical paintings and a wide range of sources and life experiences, Lotus reinterprets the use of light and shadow in his own way, playing with angles and composition to enhance the graphic quality of his images.
Nature is a recurring motif in his photography, an obvious echo of his childhood. Lotus often mixes high fashion with rural or wild environments and includes exotic animals in his compositions, using elements that connect the rarefied atmosphere of the fashion industry with the organic beauty of the natural world.
In 2011, Greg Lotus presented "Impressions", the first solo exhibition of his photographic work, in New York. The 34 pieces in the exhibition represent highlights from his 20-year career. In 2012, his new exhibition "Images" was presented at Art Basel in Miami.
Today, Lotus divides his time between Manhattan, Paris and Miami, frequently traveling for assignments in Europe and wherever his profession may take him.
