Coming out of nowhere or from the depths or even from my mind. Sodeep is made from a rare service tree burl (a fairly rare wood in our region and extremely dense and heavy). The fins are made from heather burl and plane tree and maple burl. Waxed finish.
This unique piece appeals with its creative and poetic interpretation, transforming a simple natural material into a captivating work of art that seduces and intrigues both art lovers and nature lovers.

I have always been drawn to materials. I only feel at home in nature, where you are in constant contact with things, whether wood or stone. I love working with these materials, fascinated by what they are and what they will become.
I have been a 'hands-on' person since birth and need this contact with the earth and what it produces. Transforming through one's own actions, managing to create something beautiful (at least for oneself). And then always using one's inventive side, how to achieve the desired result, which tool, which product, which process. Also drawing inspiration from what we see in nature and what others do, ideas that sometimes come too thick and fast.
The combination of creation and technique, but technique always limits or restricts what we would like...
Taking a piece of wood from nature and waiting for the idea to come to you (or not), then working on it, and sometimes it becomes something completely unexpected...
