According to Aristotelian thinkers, nature abhors a vacuum. With these works, I pursue a language unafraid of excessive decoration, ornamentation, and ostentation.
I use the snail as a being of power, a symbol of sensitivity, observation, and change. And the spiral figure that grows from the center outward, which refers to infinity, to the union with the spiritual. Knowing that any rhythm is a good rhythm; what seems eternal is only a small moment in time.

Presentation
Roberto Martín creates signature and designer ceramic pieces. He works with porcelain, crafting objects that he assembles and decorates manually, at a leisurely pace, with several firings until completion. He strives for his works to have their own identity; no two pieces are exactly alike; each tells its own story.
His work is based on the search for a language that has the ability to provoke emotions, sensations, and new thoughts. His creative process is based on classical and avant-garde references, but he also draws inspiration from a more personal world. He plays with the idea of repetition and explores all options, seeking a dialogue in his works, a thread that unites them, sometimes subtly and sometimes very obviously. This allows his to create versatile, honest, refined pieces with a playful touch.
He trained for four years at the Madrid ceramics schools EAFAC and ECM, so that in his work he carries out the entire production process for his ceramic pieces. From the initial modeling and plaster mold making to the final firing, it's a handcrafted product from start to finish, with a subtly imperfect finish and a wealth of research behind each piece.
