Types of prints

There are different types of prints as well as various techniques and materials used. The main ones are:

Etching: A print created by the impression on paper of an etched plate. The plate is marked by the corrosive action of an acid rather than a metal point (burin).

Engraving: A print created by design is incised onto a medium.

Lithography: A reproduction method that allows printing a design traced on stone onto paper using a press.

Screen printing: A printing technique that uses a stencil between the ink and the medium.

Digital printing: A marking technique that involves spraying micro ink droplets that deposit pigment onto a medium.
