I create my works with a free artistic approach, exploring numerous techniques and drawing inspiration from various cultural references.
Biography
Jean-Philippe Berger is a French artist born in 1968 in Dijon. After working in the field of Research and Innovation, he has devoted himself fully to contemporary art since 2007, the year he founded the Open Art Galerie. A gallery bringing together around thirty artists presenting varied works.
Jean-Philippe Berger's initial approach was based on mixed media work combining collages, acrylic paint and spray stencils.
His works revisit icons of popular culture and art history: superheroes , cinema figures or timeless myths intertwine to create new visual narratives. Torn posters, torn photos and graphic elements are meticulously assembled to compose scenes at the crossroads of Pop Art and Street Art.
The artist invites the viewer to dive into a vibrant universe where every detail tells a story, between homage and reinterpretation.
Over the years, his work tends more and more towards abstraction. The figurative elements that appear in the painting are the starting point for an abstract composition where the balance of shapes and colors is at the center of his research.
