Six works in this collection represent busts in which reproductive organs have been transformed into tools for telephone communication.
These works do not represent an immaculate, neutral and direct situation in formation and transmission of meaning either sexual identity as a sign of the female body on which society and patriarchic culture imprint their whims and wishes in a more pluralistic context. and not meant as the dominant notion which sees a direct relationship between the biology of women and their identity.
In the structure of patriarchal societies, however, gender becomes a key factor in forming conceptual references and meanings in communications. When a woman is a part of a dialogue, especially with a man like the other party, she is evaluated according to a gender approach and her communicative signs are interpreted in certain ways.
In this collection, this reductive approach leads to a reduction towards the transformation of the identity of the individual in relation to his sexual identity.
The sexual organs are the only organs that speak because they have been transformed into telephone parts. These works therefore approach the sexualized structure of social relations in a double symbolic sense, and at the same time, find a path to emancipation.
The collection provided autonomous tools to communicate with oneself. All the tools necessary for a telephone dialogue have been placed inside the female-like body organs.
The receiver, sender, speaker and listener are all placed within the structure and active and effective communication is made possible, not by interaction with the world, but by internal dialogue of the woman with her diverse aspects and her assertiveness.
Each of these works depicts an aspect of the social roles of "women" as beloved, wife, mother, etc. The roles, meanwhile, are defined in relation to the men and at the same time, in an autonomous way, each work completes its internal relation with its role. Therefore, the commemoration of women's autarky from internal and psychological life takes place in six complementary settings.
The uncertainty with the plurality and the reference in the concepts, either in the field of general communication between the speaker and the listener, or in a critical approach of the certain role of the sexual stereotypes in the reception and the interpretation, have been presented in Shelter's works in a greater generality, that is, a framework, in which the works were formed.

Can I negotiate the price of an artwork?
For some artworks, you can negotiate the price. If the price of the work is negotiable, you have a “Make an offer” button under the “Buy this work” one.
To submit your offer, you must make a payment of the desired amount. Your offer will then be forwarded to the gallery, which reserves the right to accept or reject it. If your offer is accepted, it means that your order is confirmed by the gallery and they will prepare the artwork for shipment. If your offer is rejected, you will be refunded the total amount paid automatically. The gallery can also propose a counter-offer for the acquisition of the artwork.

Where can I have my order delivered?
Artsper delivers worldwide!
However, please note that once your order reaches its destination, it may be subject to VAT or other customs fees. These charges are beyond our control and you will be responsible for paying them (this is indicated at the ‘checkout’ first step).

Return and cancellation
You can return the artwork without needing to provide a reason or pay a penalty fee up to 14 days after receiving your order.
In the case that the right of withdrawal is exercised in the aforementioned time frame, the price of the artwork(s) purchased and the shipping costs will be reimbursed by us as soon as the gallery has received the artwork and notified us.
Artsper will manage the return of the work and will bear the cost of returns (which will either be paid by you and refunded by Artsper or directly paid by Artsper).
The artwork must be returned in perfect condition and in its original packaging (or equivalent).
