Presentation

Elena Petrova, Experienced artist

Elena Petrova is a painter working primarily in oil on canvas and dry pastel on paper. She specializes in the styles of realism and impressionism. Her work primarily revolves around themes related to water, with a focus on seascapes and marine landscapes.

Elena Petrova says, "The canvas is a wonderful place where so much can be conveyed and equally seen. I find inspiration in nature, the sea, books, photography, and music. I study the influence of the sea on the human condition and ask myself, 'Why are we so drawn to this salty water...?' My hobby led me to live by the sea, which is magical and ever-changing, with waves, sounds, and colors. I see a million shades in a single color. The sea is not just blue; it is blue-green, or sometimes with a touch of light azure, barely perceptible shades of blue. In the depths, it becomes less transparent. It's just an endless source of inspiration. On days when I'm not painting, I memorize the feelings I get from what I see, so I can later capture them on canvas. When I'm painting, I'm completely immersed in my work; nothing can distract me from the process. For me, it's a form of relaxation and meditation. In my work, I convey the tranquility and serenity we experience when looking at the sea. My works resonate with many people. They are created in a contemporary style and fit into any interior. They are often compared to historical works of art."

In 2022, she gained experience working as a curator for art exhibitions. Notable among the numerous group exhibitions Elena Petrova has participated in are "MIAMI ARTWEEKS DECEMBER 22" by ARTBOXY during Miami Art Week in the USA and "ARTEXPO BASEL" by ARTBOXY at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg in Switzerland. Her upcoming exhibition is "Russian Art Week." Currently, one of Elena's works is featured at the Festival of Russian Art in the Scientific Institute of Ankara's Russia-Turkish Week of Culture and Art. The project's curator is collector and rector of Oxford University, Prof. Dr. Yavuz Demir. Elena is also a regular participant in the "Artists on the Rise" auction in the UK.

In 2023, Elena Petrova won 3rd place in the international exhibition competition "Landscapes of the World" in Serbia. In 2021, she received 1st place in the 26th season of the GOLDEN TIME TALENT competition in the UK. In 2020, she was awarded 6th PLACE-TIE in the AMERICAN ART AWARDS competition in the USA. In 2017, she was a 1st-degree laureate in the "Show World. House of the Sun" festival-competition in Turkey.

She has also participated in charity initiatives on Instagram, where she sold her artwork and donated 30% of the proceeds to support the treatment of an oncology patient named Lera from her hometown, Karasuk, in the Novosibirsk region. Elena often helps acquaintances by giving away her paintings to those who love her work but may not have the means to purchase it.
