The work presented is a breathtaking illustration of the union between minimalism and structure. Dominated by black tones, this piece is distinguished by a wavy texture that evokes the fluidity of a fabric in motion, while maintaining a geometric rigor. The sinuous waves, made with remarkable precision, shape a series of repetitive patterns that create an impression of depth and dynamism. The focal point of this work, however, is the vertical band located towards the right, composing a striking contrast with its bright blue color. This austere line formed by irregular and symmetrically arranged blocks is a real break within the dark uniformity, inevitably attracting the attention of the observer. The cobalt blue tiles seem almost suspended in space, suggesting an additional and transcendent dimension. The interaction between the black textured surface and the central blue line gives this work a unique visual dynamic, creating a perfect balance between complexity and simplicity. This piece is not only a demonstration of technical mastery, but also an exploration of the duality between chaos and order. It speaks of contrast, harmony and the eternal quest for balance in art and nature. In short, this creation imposes itself by its sober elegance and its capacity to captivate and solicit the senses. Each element is carefully calculated to offer an aesthetic experience as enriching as it is inspiring.
My universe is deeply inspired by the Neolithic world, the large-scale representations of the first traces of man, the dolmens, the menhir statues or the imposing cairns. Who are these builders, with what techniques and knowledge were they able to create these forms? It is the whole free field left by silence to these questions that is a source of inspiration, dialogue, research. And closer to us, the charm and spirituality of the temples of the 11th and 12th century of Japan.
My sculptures form a constellation of points, like a taut arc that connects us to these unfathomable origins, to nature, to space.
"I like to let myself be guided by impulses. The sculpture is built as I go along. I always try to create transparency, light effects by playing with the black of the wood licked by the flame, the orange gradients of the Douglas pine, the silver reflections of the steel.
Next to my studio, I have created a space of truth. The sculptures thus arranged must give me emotions, sensations, like a magnetic current."
