Artistas Japoneses
¿Tiene usted debilidad por el arte japonés? Nacido en una isla aislada, el arte japonés ha permanecido durante mucho tiempo al margen de la sociedad occidental. En su versión tradicional, solemos ver grabados en madera (ukiyo-e), pergaminos colgantes (kakejiku) o pergaminos manuales ilustrados (emaki). La mayoría de las veces, estas obras de arte incluyen también caligrafía (shodo). Estos medios son características distintivas de las artes tradicionales japonesas. Entre los artistas famosos se encuentran Utamaro y Utagawa Toyokuni. Pero el arte japonés moderno y contemporáneo también es explosivo en el mundo del arte actual. Lo que antes era una entidad aislada se ha convertido en una mercancía muy codiciada. Artistas como Takashi Murakami y Yayoi Kusama dominan la escena artística creando obras radicalmente diferentes. Sin duda, contribuyen a la prosperidad de Japón. A pesar del rechazo inicial a la influencia occidental, el arte japonés es hoy un verdadero éxito. Desde el éxito de Superflat, un movimiento de arte contemporáneo influenciado por el anime, el manga y la cultura pop japoneses fundado por Takashi Murakami, los artistas japoneses han invadido la escena artística mundial con obras impregnadas de cultura contemporánea. El arte japonés se distingue por su gran diversidad. Algunos artistas, como Yoshitomo Nara con sus dibujos de niños y perros con grandes ojos ingenuos, mantienen el aspecto sensible y frágil de su arte tradicional, así como el tema de la inocencia. Otros añaden un alto grado de provocación y elementos eróticos a su arte. Yayoi Kusama y Yoko Ono, ambas provocadoras, comenzaron sus carreras como artistas en los años 60 en Nueva York, trabajando con los movimientos Happening y Fluxus, respectivamente. Otros se interesan por la historia de su país, la cultura pop o la sociedad de consumo. Ryoko Watanabe, por ejemplo, se inspira en estereotipos japoneses como la geisha, que integra en paisajes urbanos modernos.
