Artistas inspirados por los logotipos
El escritor Steven Heller señala que el origen del logotipo se remonta a la antigüedad, como una imagen única de algo que se utiliza como expresión de un individuo o que representa una idea, un pensamiento o incluso un producto. El uso de representaciones pictóricas permitió superar el analfabetismo, indicando dónde había estado alguien o cuál era su oficio, y en un mundo actual dominado por la cultura visual, el logotipo ha llegado para quedarse. Por lo tanto, ¿pueden los logotipos convertirse en obras de arte? Los llamativos colores primarios del logotipo de Brillo están grabados a fuego en nuestras mentes; asociados a la vida cotidiana, fueron elevados a materia viable gracias al arte pop. Coincidiendo con la globalización de la música pop, los iconos y la cultura juvenil, el arte pop como movimiento artístico surgió a mediados de los años 50 en Gran Bretaña y a finales de los 50 en Estados Unidos para desafiar las tradiciones de las bellas artes. El logotipo y su legado en las obras de arte pop han inspirado sin duda a los artistas contemporáneos, ya que el espectador se ve afrentado por la publicidad a diario. En la selección de Artsper de artistas inspirados en el logotipo, artistas como Diederik van Apple crearon su propia versión del arte pop, mientras que Efi Mashiah toma el logotipo y recicla el tema en todo un género del objeto decorativo.
