This work of art was created by the Artist while freediving in water at 13°C at a depth of 3.2 meters at the Ecueils du Grand Méjean - The Artist made 62 round trips to take a breath and create this painting at the bottom of the water.
This captivating artwork depicts a natural scene of a rocky gorge opening onto a brilliant sky. The rich, thick paint textures, expertly applied, add a striking tactile dimension. The vibrant hues of blue, in stark contrast to the earthy tones, create a sense of depth and energy. Presentation
As a freediving painter and underwater dancer, I present myself to the world as an ambassador of the underwater world to raise awareness of the importance of preserving water and the life it supports.
My artistic practice is based on my journey, which led me to demand an update through art: the underwater world is marvelous, it deserves to be known and loved.
After eight years of service as a submariner, I resigned from the army to focus on life and escape from my conflicting values.
At the end of this period, I turned to freediving. In this way, I was able to encounter the living world, which I had previously listened to thanks to sonar. This period of my life was extremely enriching: freediving allowed me to discover myself and reconnect with my artistic essence. I then made the decision to go on a world tour with the aim of exploring the underwater world.
Upon my return, deeply motivated by the need to raise awareness of the importance of preserving aquatic environments, I invested in artistic performance to immerse the public in moments of wonder.
Since then, I have been working for the reconciliation of human beings with the living. If we do not change our deep-rooted beliefs, in a few years we will face the decline of our balance, just as that of underwater life.
For six years, I have been organizing exhibitions, giving conferences and speaking engagements to discuss our connection to life at emblematic events, such as this year at the UNOC in Nice, or at the Summit for Peace and Sustainable Development, organized by the UN and the IPPDR in 2024.
